Meet Andrew Griffeth

Andrew is a 3rd generation Athenian and is raising his family in the Classic City. Andrew has been married to Lindsay for 13 years and they have two children, Sawyer (6) and Sutton (3).

Member of First Presbyterian Church of Athens
Graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina
Volunteers with the Athens Access to Justice as well as various other community service initiatives.
Avid fan of UGA Athletics
Volunteer soccer coach with Athens First United Methodist Church
Enjoys spending time with family and friends in the community he loves

Andrew is a dedicated court professional and has spent the last 12 years working in the Clerk’s Office for Superior and State Court where he has gained invaluable knowledge and experience.

Oversees the entire jury process for Athens-Clarke County Superior and State Court
Trusted resource for Superior and State Court policies and procedures
Expert in digitizing and maintaining records for Superior and State courts – including civil, criminal, and land records
Servant leader and respected colleague
Served as a Clerk with a Family Violence Unit (2011)
Deputy Clerk (2012-2014)
Senior Deputy Clerk (2014-present)

Prioritize Customer Service and Transparency

I’ve spent over a decade working in the Clerk’s office and truly love being able to engage with the people of our community on a daily basis. If elected, my top priority will be continuing to serve YOU with excellence while maintaining the public’s trust through transparency.

Promote Collaboration

While this position may not be well-known, it plays a vital role in our justice system. The Clerk performs integral administrative duties that Judges, attorneys, and citizens rely on. Because of this, it is critical that they foster an environment of collaboration. I will build upon the relationships I have made throughout my tenure to ensure the Clerk’s office has a reputation of being supportive and collaborative. New ideas will always be welcome.

Implement New Technology

I understand that dealing with the court system can be tedious. If elected, I will ensure we continue to explore and implement new technology to make interactions with our office as convenient as possible for all.
